Issue/Question
I need to share a file with another person within the organization and the file is too large to email. How do I share files on my OneDrive with another user?
Environment
Within the Westmoreland company, all users have access to the OneDrive share feature.
Cause
Users are provided with a certain size limit for sharing files through emails. Once the size of the file is surpassed, the user will have to find an alternative means for sharing large files.
Resolution/Answer
To share files through OneDrive:
- Open the File Explorer and navigate to the file you wish to share.

- Locate the file you wish to share and Right click the file.
- On the drop down menu, choose the Share button with the blue OneDrive cloud next to it.

- In the window that opens, select the "Who", the "message" and what type of permissions you want to give the "who" (edit or view).

- When you're done, you can either copy a link to the file or just send the message. If you click Send, it sends an email with your message and a link to the file you're sharing to the "who" that you entered.
