How to add Data Sequencing to Grids in JDE

How do I update the order which my grid results are displayed?

Requirements

  • An active JDE account
  • Access to a Custom Grid to update the sequencing on

Resolution

Data sequencing is the ability to sort the results in your grid as you would like. You can select which column to sort by ascending (oldest to newest, lowest to highest) or descending (newest to oldest, highest to lowest) records. You may layer your data sequencing and they will apply starting top-down from the list of Sequenced Columns.

Update Data Sequencing:  

  1. Open the application in which to apply grid data sequencing.
  2. Click on the 'Personalize Grid' button, located in the upper-right of the grid:

  1. Click on Data Sequencing to expand and update grid sequencing:

  1. To add additional sorting, select one of the available columns, then click Add.
    1. You may remove 'Sequenced Columns' by selecting a column then clicking Remove.

  1. Sequenced Columns will specify whether they are (A)scending or (D)escending in their name. Columns default to (A)scending sorting (Oldest to newest).
    1. To sort using (D)escending: Select the column and uncheck the 'Ascending' checkbox:

  1. You can re-arrange the order in which sequencing is applied using the 'Change Order' arrows. Sorting applies starting at the top and working down the list (IE: Order Number > Order Ty > Order Co, etc).
  2. Select the Sequenced Column and click the up or down arrow to move it to the desired location.

  1. Once satisfied with your changes, Click Save to save your updates.
  2. Click the X in the upper right to close out of the grid manager.
