How to enable and use the JDE Attachment Manager CAFE1 Layout

Question

What applications use the CAFE1 Attachment Manager in JDE and how do I use it?

Enabling/Disabling the Attachment Manager

To show/enable the Attachment Manager:

  1. Sign into JDE
  2. Open any supported application (listed under Environment)
  3. Click on the Layout dropdown in the upper right

  1. Select the Layout ending in -AJAM (This is the Attachment Manager CAFE1)
  2. Select a row with attachments to display them on the right:

 

To hide/disable the Attachment Manager:

  1. Open any supported application (listed under Environment)
  2. Click on the Layout dropdown in the upper right
  3. Select (No Layout), or any layout that does not end in -AJAM

The application will refresh and no longer show the attachment manager on the right-hand side.

Attachment Manager Functions

The attachment manager buttons function the same in all applications that it is available.

Note: Please do not insert any images into a Text Attachment. Doing so has profoundly negative downstream effects

  1.  Add Text Attachment  - Create a formatted text file attachment 
    1. Fill in the attachment name
    2. Fill in and format any text
    3. Click Save

  1.   Add File Attachment – Attach a file to the document (PDF, Spreadsheet, etc)
    1. Click on Choose Files, select your file, and click on the “Upload” button.

  1.   Add URL Attachment – Attach a link to a webpage (IE: SharePoint file, SharePoint webpage, or vendor catalog part)
    1. Copy+Paste the URL from your web browser
    2. Click Add

  1.  Download Attachment – downloads the currently displayed attachment

  2.  Download Multiple Attachments – Downloads selected attachments as a .zip file
    1. Check the box next to the attachment(s) you would like to download
    2. Click Download

  1.  Print Attachment

 

Attachment Manager File Types and How They are Viewed:

You can attach several types in the attachment manager, including: PDFs, images, text, documents, and URLs

  1. PDF Files, Images, and Text may be viewed directly in the Attachment Manager CAFE1 like:
  1. Office Documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are not viewable in the CAFE1 and will download a viewable copy when clicked.
  2. URL Links are not viewable in CAFE1 and you must click the Open URL button next to the attachment dropdown to open the page in a new tab
