Notes:

Installation Procedure:

  1. Navigate to the site SoftwareNT folder and download the installation file onto the user's desktop.

  2. Right click and run as administrator.

  3. When the installer opens, Check the "I agree" box and click Next

  4. Click Next

  5. Check Update Sentinel HL driver. 
    • Whether this is a fresh installer or an uninstall/reinstall, Select the "Update Sentinel HL Driver"
    • This is what allows the software to get a license.
    • Put a check mark in the box and click Next.
  6. Use the default directory and click Start.

  7. You should see this window when the installation is complete.
     
    1. If you want to see what's new, leave the box checked & click OK.
    2. If you do not want to look at what's new, uncheck the box and select OK.
    3. The software installer then closes.

Desktop Shortcut:

  1. Look on the desktop to see if it installed a desktop shortcut.
  2. If the installer did not create a desktop shortcut, navigate here: C:\Program Files (x86)\3D-Dig40
  3. Select 3dDigw.exe

  4. Right Click and select Create a Shortcut.
  5. Once the shortcut has been created, cut and paste it onto the desktop, or drag and drop onto the Desktop.
 
NOTE: You will not be able to use the software until you point the software towards the license manager.
  • Open the software again and see if you can pull a license. You should be able to get a license from most if not all sites.

Configuring 3D-Dig Network License

  1. In a browser navigate to (http://localhost:1947) and you get the following webpage: 

  2. Next, Select “Configuration” on the left-hand menu bar:

  3. Then click on Access to Remote License Managers in the top menu.  Mirror the screenshot below:
    • Uncheck both Broadcast Search for Remote Licenses and Aggressive Search for Remote Licenses.
    • Under Remote License Search Parameters, enter the license server details:
      • Current license server is: DDC-BSN-AP-13
  4. This should be all you need to do to pull a license.  Check to make sure that you can pull a license by opening the software one more time.

Troubleshooting:

  • If you open the software and cannot pull a license you can start by going to the website Earth Technology’s website: https://earthtechnology.net/downloads make sure that you have the latest version of the software.
  • You may also run across an instance where it tells you that you do not have the proper sentinel software installed.
  • First try reinstalling the “Sentinel HL Driver” from the version on you machine.
  • To install the HASP driver, just run the 3d-dig setup and select the “Sentinel HL Driver”.
  • There was a bluescreen issue with error "hardlock.sys" - to resolve, reference this ticket - Service Request Detail - 766254: Computer randomly crashes w... (westmoreland.com)

Note: If you cannot pull a license with the above configuration follow the steps given below.

  1. Go back to the configuration window shown above.
  2. Remove the server name “DDCPB106” from the box and click submit.
  3. Next put check marks in the two boxes:
    • “Allow Access to Remote License” - yes
    • “Broadcast Search for Remote Licenses” – yes
  4.  Click submit to save
