How to view .heic picture files from iphone/ipad on Windows 10 computer.

Environment

User's iPhone/iPad.

 

Cause

Cannot view .heic files on Windows computer, and cannot access the Windows Store in order to download the extensions.

 

Resolution/Answer

In order to make the change on the user's iphone/ipad:

  1. Open phone setting menu by pressing on the setting app button.

  2. Under the settings menu select “Camera” option.

  3. In the Camera Settings menu select “Formats” option.

  4. Select the “Most Compatible” under “Camera Capture.”

  5. All newly taken photos will be stored as .jpg files for easier sharing.
