Environment

  • Team Dynamix

Resolution/Answer

Information to have ready before submitting a Request Ticket.

Complete File Path:

This should not contain any lettered drives.

The S: drive here will be:  \\sjcpb138\sjcc by taking the Circled part first adding “\” and adding the Squared part after it.

So for the example above the full file path needed will be: \\sjcpb138\sjcc\SJU_ENG\Geology - Data Only

A Business Justification:

Be as descriptive as possible for the reason you will need access to this file.  This will be review and approved by your Supervisor/Manager and the owner of said file also.

Creating a Service Request ticket:

  1. From the homepage for the Service Desk Webpage select the “Request” option there.

  1. The Service Request form will open.
  2. Fill out the Brief Description:  “I am needing Access to the Geology Data Only folder.”
  3. In the Request type select “File Access”

  1. Fill out the File Path with the full file path as shown above.
  2. Fill out the Business Justification section by being as detailed as possible.
  3. Click on “Submit” at the bottom of the page.
  4. This will go through the approval process, once approved Service Desk will assign needed Active Directory Security group to reach your file.
  5. Once you receive the email about the worked being completed there is usually about a 30min sync time wait then signing out and signing back in will allow you to open the file location.
