What to expect when connecting with Global Protect for the first time. 

The following article is to assist you with the first time connecting to the Global Protect VPN. 
 
 - The initial push of Global Protect is automatic, if you did not get Global Protect at that time please navigate to the software center to install it -

- After completion of the install navigate to the task bar and find the new Global Protect icon. It will show not connected for now.

- When asked for the Portal type in vpn.westmoreland.com then select Connect.

- To ensure you are connected find the Global Protect icon and confirm you see the "Connected" status.

- If you get a prompt for an error to reboot your computer to complete the install of Global Protect that is safe to allow, this just means there is another update on your computer that needs to be completed first.

What if I am seeing two options when logging in?

- If you notice to have two separate options when logging into your Global Protect such as:

Then you will have a issue of having to log in multiple times to get Global Protect to pull the @westmoreland.com log in. To resolve this issue remove any account that is not your @westmoreland.com so that Global Protect can connect. 

-To remove your other account please go to your search bar to the "Access work or school" option:

- From there select the account you do not want to have connected anymore (only keep your @westmoreland.com account):

- Select "Disconnect"
